Aspergers TestFree RAADS-R ScreeningOriginally Designed for Asperger's
The RAADS-R (Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale) was specifically developed to identify Asperger's syndrome in adults. Take our free screening test.
This test is a screening tool and not a diagnostic instrument. Please consult with a qualified healthcare professional for a formal evaluation.
A Note on Terminology
While 'Asperger's syndrome' is still commonly searched, it was merged into 'Autism Spectrum Disorder' in the DSM-5 (2013). What was called Asperger's is now part of the autism spectrum, often referred to as 'Level 1 autism' or 'autism without intellectual disability.'
- •Asperger's is now part of Autism Spectrum Disorder
- •The RAADS-R was designed when Asperger's was a separate diagnosis
- •Your results are equally valid for understanding autism traits
- •Many adults still identify with the Asperger's label

Meaning of RAADS-R Scores
Understanding your score interpretation
0-25: No Indications
No indications of autism
26-50: Minimal Traits
Presence of some traits associated with autism, though unlikely to be autism (note: some individuals with autism may have scores as low as 44)
51-90: Moderate Signs
Enhanced signs of autism, though scores this high can also be found in non-autistic individuals
91-130: Strong Likelihood
Average score among individuals with autism, indicating a strong likelihood of autism
131-227: Clear Indication
Overwhelming evidence pointing towards autism. 227 is the highest score recorded in the foundational RAADS-R study

The absolute maximum score attainable on the RAADS-R scale
Aspergers Test FAQ
Questions about Asperger's syndrome testing
Is there still an Aspergers test?
Yes. While Asperger's was merged into autism spectrum disorder in 2013, the RAADS-R ('Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale') was designed when Asperger's was a distinct diagnosis and remains the gold standard for identifying these traits in adults.
What's the difference between Aspergers and autism?
Historically, Asperger's was diagnosed in people with autism traits but no intellectual disability or language delay. Today, this would be called 'Level 1 autism' or 'autism without intellectual disability.'
Is this Aspergers test free?
Yes, our RAADS-R assessment is completely free. The test was designed to identify what was then called Asperger's syndrome in adults and remains highly effective for autism screening.
Can adults have Aspergers?
Absolutely. Many adults with what would have been called Asperger's weren't diagnosed in childhood, often due to developing coping mechanisms. The RAADS-R is specifically designed to identify autism traits in adults.
Why do people still search for 'Aspergers test'?
Many adults relate to the Asperger's label from their own research or prior informal diagnosis. The RAADS-R covers these exact traits, making it ideal whether you search for 'autism' or 'Asperger's' testing.
Is Aspergers the same as high-functioning autism?
These terms overlap significantly. Both refer to autism without intellectual disability. However, 'high-functioning' is falling out of favor as it can minimize real challenges. 'Level 1 autism' is the current clinical term.
