Autism in adults remains significantly underdiagnosed. Many adults — particularly women, people of color, and those in regions without specialist access — live without understanding why they experience the world differently. Our mission is to bridge this gap by providing free, evidence-based screening tools in multiple languages.

Scientific Methodology
The RAADS-R (Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale-Revised) is a self-report instrument specifically designed for adults. It was developed by Dr. Riva Ariella Ritvo and colleagues at Yale University School of Medicine and published in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders.
Social Relatedness
Measures difficulties with social interaction, understanding social norms, and forming relationships. This dimension covers 39 questions and is typically the highest-scoring area.
Circumscribed Interests
Assesses focused or intense interests, rigid routines, and resistance to change. This dimension includes 14 questions about patterns of interest and behavior.
Language
Evaluates pragmatic language use, literal interpretation, and communication style. This 7-question dimension captures language-related autism traits.
Sensory Motor
Measures sensory sensitivities and motor coordination differences. The 20 questions in this dimension address sensory processing across multiple modalities.
Each of the 80 questions is scored 0-3 based on lifetime experience. 16 questions are reverse-scored because they describe non-autistic behaviors. The maximum score is 240, and the original research cutoff is 65.

Who developed the RAADS-R test?
The RAADS-R was developed by Dr. Riva Ariella Ritvo and colleagues at Yale University School of Medicine. It was published in 2011 in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders and has since been widely adopted in clinical and research settings.
Is this a medical diagnosis?
No. The RAADS-R is a screening tool, not a diagnostic instrument. Its original validation study found high sensitivity and specificity in that study sample, but later research in clinical populations has found substantially more false positives, and only a qualified healthcare professional can provide a formal diagnosis. We recommend discussing your results with a clinician.

How accurate is the RAADS-R?
In the original RAADS-R validation study, a score of 65 or above showed high sensitivity and specificity in that study sample. Subsequent research in clinical populations has found substantially more false-positive results, so these figures should not be interpreted as the likelihood that an individual user has or does not have autism. Scores below 65 are associated with a lower likelihood of autism but do not rule it out.
Can I take the test in my language?
Yes. Our platform supports 13 languages: English, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Vietnamese, and Arabic. Translations follow the published RAADS-R items; they have not each been separately validated, so results in other languages should be read with that in mind.
